 Bernard Arnault is a French investor, businessman, and art collector. He is one of the world's ultimate taste-makers, He has an empire of 70 brands including Louis Vuitton and Sephora, and many more. Bernard Arnault was born on 5 March 1949, in Roubaix, France. After graduating with an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, he joined his family's company and Forced his father to exit its construction business and focus on real estate. His father had made a small fortune in construction. Arnault got his start by putting up $15 million from that business to buy Christian Dior in 1985.


Arnault's collection includes works by Picasso, Henry Moore, and Andy Warhol. He was also instrumental in establishing LVMH commonly called Louis Vuitton as a major patron of art in France. The Louis Vuitton Young Fashion Designer was created as an international competition open to students from fine-arts schools. Every year, the winner is awarded a grant to support the creation of the designer's own label and with a year of mentorship.



Four of Arnault's five children work in corners of the Louis Vuitton empire. The company spent $3.2 billion in 2019 for luxury hospitality group, Belmond, which owns or manages 46 hotels, trains, and river cruises.



In July 2021, Arnault became the second-richest man in the world, with a net worth of 186 billion dollars. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Arnault saw his wealth shrink by 30 billion dollars as sales of luxury goods plummeted. In January 2021, LVMH completed a deal for American jeweler Tiffany & Co for $15.8 billion, believed to be the biggest luxury brand acquisition ever.



On 24 May 2021, he regained the status of the wealthiest man in the world, with his net worth climbing to $186.3 billion. This occurred as sales of LVMH's luxury goods surged in China and other parts of Asia. Currently, He is in the second position in terms of wealth with a net worth of $190 Billion.
